So after two anniversaries spent at the Omni Royal Orleans, I can report that it is in the best possible location in the French Quarter, is perfectly appointed (the regular rooms are small, but managable and elegant - the one bedroom suites are large - bathrooms are not quite a wow but very, very nicely appointed and spotless), the staff is wonderful throughout, the nice doorman spoke to us every time we went in or out, the rooftop deck is heavenly and was never too crowded to enjoy - with access to the roof, you don't really need a balcony off your room.
