7. If my only complaint is that the pool isn't as 'modern' (lacking what seems to be the requisite swinging rope bridges and water slides) as all the other great spots on Oahu, just remember that the highly-rated Halekulani in Waikiki doesn't have a fancy pool for daredevils, either.

8. We both realized that much of our complaint has to do with the resort next door and is out of their control- the hotel itself seemed to try to be accommodating when they could be but we still felt let down- especially when we were still charged for our upgrade.
