1. Some of the best food carts in Portland are right outside the hotel: you must check out Cuba de Cuba if you like rice and beans.

4. He also made reservations for us at Andina, a fantastic Peruvian restaurant, where we were treated like royalty, including complimentary port and sweets after dinner, and best wishes from an attentive staff for a happy anniversary.

9. We decided to book the Lewis and Clark Suite, as one huge room was more fitting for the occasion than a couple of smaller rooms and the Governor's Lewis & Clark Suite was the best value for such a room in dowtown Portland.
