3. Cons: (some more of a nuisance than others) Shoebox rooms, bathroom 'doors' are sliding shutters that block no sounds and there is no bathroom fan to mask noises, trash trucks and laundry start crashing around at 6am on that end of Waikiki, so if you're sleeping with your slider door cracked for air.

4. The Pros: Private Beach, open air lobby and garden, helpful staff, gorgeous public bathrooms downstairs easily accesible from beach, clean sheets, L'Occitane toiletries, double rolls of T.

9. Clearly, some parts of it had recently been refreshed, but the bathroom retained its 1980s-style fixtures (gold-plated faucets!) and a jacuzzi tub that's seen better days.
