1. The price was good, and going to sleep with the sound of waves out the door is the ultimate in relaxation.

5. What was really frustrating was that we paid the same price for a one-bedroom oceanview at the Hana Kai Maui as we did for a one-bedroom partial oceanview in a house elsewhere in Hana that was absolutely spotless and perfect.

7. Also, due to the fact that there are so few hotels in Hana, and the Hotel Hana is so expensive, these motel-like accomodations can jack up the prices.

8. Stay at Hana Kai for the tropical gardens, surf sounds, etc. but don't expect much of your room even at a price of $250 per night.
