1. I booked a double room (for 2 adults) but another friend decided to bunk in with us and the staff provided a rollaway bed free of charge.

The service was first-rate, from the housekeeping staff to the valet (amazingly quick) to the front desk attendants, who were eager to help and give advice and who even made an unreasonably large number of copies for me absolutely free of charge just to make up for some minor problems I had printing out some documents.

4. Parking for New Years was $45 plus tax ending up at $50 and even though I specified upon checkin I would not be using the credit card on file to pay for parking but instead use cash they proceeded to charge the card.

9. Even including the valet parking charge (which I thought was high but which I later found out was the same price we would have paid had we parked in a garage ourselves), we paid about $100 per night, and the Powell was worth every penny.
