1. As others have said, immediate neighborhood is not great but surrounding area is great and you can walk to some cool restaurants on Pico.

2. Conclution is that this is a good place to be if you don't have to live in the middle of a city, and with good restaurants close by you can chill out in the evenings in the area close to the hotel.
