If you are seeking a relaxing experience with the feel of a beach cottage, away from it all, but with the convenience of a good
hotel
, and the proximity of restaurants, shops, etc, then this is the place to spend some time.

The LARGE semi-private deck came with a table with seating for 4, plus 2 chaise lounges (cushions for the outdoor seating are kept inside the cabin in the closet); by semi-private I mean this --> it is a very large deck that is solely for your own personal use, and it has a low fence around it, but you can see the deck of the guest next to you (very much like having a balcony in a
hotel
--- it is private, but you can see your neighbors if they are on their balcony).

I had a studio room at the beginning of the pier, far cheaper than some of the
hotel
s along the beach for a 'sea view', and this one was right on the beach.

As a San Diego resident for more than three decades, I've always been intrigued by this landmark
hotel
, so when we were hosting our out-of-state grandkids, it seemed like a natural.

The area was safe, there was plenty to do outside of the
hotel
- beach, shops, surfing, playing under the pier.
