1. The only downside was the cost of the seaside cafe (very expensive), but if you are up for cooking some meals on your own, and perhaps looking for dining alternatives, you'll be fine.

2. downside was there was lobby construction at Kaanapali, but there is a convenience store next door about 2 minutes walk at Royal Lahaina.
