I told them that was
unacceptable
-- I didn't have a car, was unfamiliar with public transportation and a cab ride would cost $50 or more each way and take well more than an hour in rush hour traffic the next morning.

I insisted that I had paid for the room weeks beforehand and that my family of three had arrived at 1:30pm for check-in, and that it was therefore
unacceptable
not to provide a room with a king-sized bed.
