1. We asked the from desk if any of the elevators were broken and why the line was so long.

4. And the room was so dark that when I woke up at a normal time I thought it was the middle of the night (and my shades were broken so they couldn't close all the way).

6. The Sir Francis Drake is an older hotel and although we had an Executive King room it seemed rather dated, the closets smelled very musty, the bathroom door wouldn't close, the bathtub had been painted and the paint was peeling off and flaking into the tub, there was no space for placing toiletries or hairdryer, broken ice maker on our floor, no wine reception held at this location (they will give you a coupon for free glass of house wine in bar however), a sad workout room, no spa or saunas like at other Kimpton hotels, and pretty flat front desk personnel (except for the Concierge).
"Kimpton Hotel Monaco a better choice in Union Square " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/27/2011 Vote
7. I don't know what other rooms are like in this hotel, but ours had a terrible view, the window didn't seal so it was cold in our room, and the bathroom was really sad, with chipped paint, broken mirror, and poor water pressure.
"A Grand Old Lady badly in need of a facelift " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/26/2011 Vote
8. The ice machine on my floor was broken, so if i wanted ice i had to climb a flight of stairs.
"Communal soap? wtf? " Read full review on TripAdvisor   6/11/2010 Vote
9. On top of that, the bathroom door in our first room was broken and would not shut all the way.

10. From the broken elevator buttons, to the stains on the headboard of my bed, the lack of maintenance here was appalling.
