1. Unlike other posters who have complained about the lack of platinum recognition, I have had no such experience.

While most fault this hotel on lighting, which really is terrible, or staff attitude, which has room for serious improvement; or the gym, which is tired and dated and has no shower, steam or locker facilities unless you pay to use the spa, my main concern is one of safety and given the lack of reply I caution others.

7. As it happens, I had booked a suite anyway so the lack of a huge upgrade wasn't a huge issue, but as a top-level member of the hotel chain's loyalty scheme staying in a $400 suite booked with cash (not SPG points or anything), I would have expected a slightly better attitude.
