1. The hotel may be good for vacation getaways because of its quirky nature, but is too awkward to navigate for business travelers and those not comfortable with navigating many steps.

2. The courtyard is very California, and contains a fake, but arguably pleasant, waterfall/stream thing and some nice bushes, along with a hot tub located awkwardly directly outside some poor soul's room.
