1. The one thing that didn't live up to expectations was the restaurant - we had breakfast one morning, it was expensive and we were waiting around for a long time - the service was terrible, for example they brought the toast but with no cutlery, jam or butter - so by the time the other bits finally arrived the toast was cold and hard.

So, I booked the room (w/o using pts) at the AMEX travel website because of the following additional benefits: (none of which were honored by Ritz management)- Room upgrade, if available- Daily continental breakfast for two- 4:00PM late checkout- $100 food/beverage creditLong story short, avoid this Ritz as it is no different then the Capital Hilton or Renaissance (both of which are far less expensive).

4. The hotels are only a few blocks from one another and (more to the point) the Ritz Carlton prices its rooms similarly (depending upon when one happens to make a reservation either hotel might be more expensive per night) and thus invites the comparison that way as well.
