6. On the other hand, while you are on the ocean side of Kalakaua and do not have to cross a street to get to the beach, it is a good though pleasant 10 minute walk thru Fort DeRussey Park to get there.

7. Trying to picture the location before I got here, I was pleasantly surprised how close it really is to the stores and restaurants --the high-end Kalakaua strip begins just 1 1/2 blocks away.
