1. First, we secured the room on Priceline, so the value couldn't be beat; we paid about 25% of the best rate we would have been able to find for the Four Seasons or the Grand Wailea and less than we would have paid for the Days Inn in Kihei.

7. After reading reviews on here for weeks, we finally decided that the Wailea Beach Marriot Resort and Spa was the best choice based upon where we wanted to stay (Wailea), the price, the pools, and the type of vacation we were seeking (quiet with more couples and less families).

8. he Luau is supposedly not the best on Maui, but we lucked out as the annual fire and knife competition was being held when we went.
