1. I guess expedite was interpreted as 'expedition', as that was what it took to get new batteries in and get the lock working.

3. I had once stayed at the Muse in new York City (another Kimpton) and enjoyed that so I was looking forward to the Palomar.

4. You can drive or take the bus to the Century City mega-mall, with its upscale stores and restaurants, or go west to the beaches of Santa Monica or the new Santa Monica Place (another upscale mall) and the Third Street Promenade.

5. The guy at the desk told us we could get light fare/snacks in the bar and then another person at the hotel said they had changed the menu in the bar, and ran off to get the new menu which was identical to the menu which was in the bar in the first place.

8. Having stayed in Los Angeles many times it was nice to try a new hotel with a different look and must say it'd be one I'd stay in if I came back on my own dime.

9. Our stay coincided with UCLA graduation weekend, the property was booked solid, and lots of little things went wrong:- For starters, the room key didn't work when we got to our room, so we had to wait for staff to come up and rescue us, the get new keys from the front desk.
