1. It's not in the greatest part of town, but the streets are all well lit, so my wife and I were comfortable walking to and from the motel even late at night.

2. We stayed at a miserable hotel on the first night (The Townehouse on Sunset), and then stayed at Magic Castle on Franklin Ave, which was wonderful and I really recommend them if you want a comfortable stay.
