This was the first place we stayed during our trip to the Big Island and it was a great location for accessing so many of the different wonders of the Big Island (Kealekekua Bay, Captain Cook Monument area, Mauna Kea, etc.) As you head S from Kailua-Kona, it's one of the very last resorts so it is not butted up to the area where the night life is, but it did seem more private and relaxed for that reason too (it is still only about 15 min from town of Kona).
