1. On the other hand, if you turn left instead of right as you leave the hotel you'll end up at the San Diego wharves and be able to visit the USS Midway (definitely worth the time) as well as eat at a selection of seafood restaurants, all of which seem to be overpriced for what they deliver - but you might be lucky and get a sea view for dinner, which takes away some of the pain.

4. My companions and I ventured out into the Gaslamp district for dinners, and found varying quality, mostly chain restaurants (Hard Rock Cafe) or what I would consider to be overpriced touristy restaurants ($10 for a side of broccoli with a steak.
