5. Here are the lessons I have learned - 1) Request for a refurbished room 2) Request for a room with a big bathroom 3) Request for a room facing away from the airport if you want to sleep well 4) Park elsewhere because Hilton LAX parking rates are very high.

6. There was a big conference going on the weekend I stayed here but, again, I wasn't bothered by any noise and got a kick out of seeing the unique attendees for this less-than-mainstream event.

8. Because of my status, I got a renovated room both times -- they are gorgeous -- high tech, great big flat screen, comfy beds, lots and lots of electrical outlets, clean carpets, etc.
