1. The Hilton Gaslamp is a nice alternative to the mega-hotels along the main drag (Hyatt, Marriott and the new Hilton on the bay).

8. It being new Years Eve, they were unable to provide us with a room with two double beds (as all rooms of that type were sold out).

9. After our new years' celebration, we returned to our hotel to find a complimentary bottle of wine, cheese plate, cracker plate, and hand written note from Jason (who had handled our situation earlier) apologizing for the inconvenience.

10. I just stayed here for new Years Eve because it is across the street from a party I was going to (Big Night Out San Diego--which I also recommend).
