8. Location & value were motivators for this 2 day stay so $99/night for a 3 star hotel in DC seemed OK for my needs, I used public transportation and the Shuttle, so I avoided the valet parking and its fees.

9. if you are going for boutique-ness you're not going to find it at the latham and if you are going for value--- well at least you probably have more consumer protections (which you might need to fight misc charges) at a corporate hotel.
