1. We had booked a standard room direct with the hotel website and on check in we were given an ocean view room with balcony (wall and dividers to prevent all but the most enthusiastic cat burglar).

2. Our room on the 4th floor was clean and spacious with large balcony overlooking both ocean and hotel's entrance (I didn't pay extra for the view, so it was another nice surprise).

3. However, there are ashtrays and matches in the rooms and several of the smokers said they had been told at the desk that it was OK to smoke in the (open) hallways and balconies.

6. They also had Hu Ke Lau show which we were able to enjoy right from the our balcony :) On our last day they let leave our luggage in the storage after morning checkout (our plane was leaving at 11 PM) and then let us use hospitality room for an hour to freshen up before the flight.

7. Our rooms faced another courtyard that was outfitted with a garden, and we found that to be an interesting novelty after having had balconies at some of the other places we stayed.

9. Location is good, room was booked as superior garden view, but I ended up in the Ocean wing, which was a better room--had a balcony overlooking the 'ocean' i.e. Hilo Harbor, and was a good-sized room.
