1. If you want to be down on south beach near the shops and trendy bars and restaurants this isnt the place to stay, its a 20 block walk and will take you a good 40 mins, or a 10 min cab drive which cost us between $10 - $14 each way, this certainly added up over the course of a week.

2. The only disadvantage of the hotel was that it was not close to shops or restaurants (other than hotel restaurants), however that was a minor inconvenience when cost and comfort was considererd.

4. It was about 3 miles from South Beach, but we took the bus which was quite nice and only cost $1.50 per person.

Thankfully, my husband's company is paying the $170 per night it cost to stay here (plus tax and a $12 'resort fee,' which they waived for the conference attendees - although it did show up on our bill and we had to ask the front desk to remove it) because I would not pay even $20 per night to stay here.

10. Hotel charges $12.50/day 'resort fee' on top of rate (why don't they build that into the rate so I can't argue this point?) to cover cost of towels, beach toys (ha!a small bucket of $1 'noodles' and balls left behind by guests), fresh fruit (joke.
