6. While in NYC to meet some friends for dinner we popped up to 92nd and Madison to check out the Hotel Wales which had rates of $291 for a room, the Area is lovely quiet near many museums one block from bus route on 5th and surrounded by wonderful restaurants.

10. There is the usual nickle-and-diming, such as the $12.95 daily internet fee, steep rates even for local calls and so forth, but hey, the service is friendly and, if you want to be on the upper east side, the Wales is a comfortable, no-nonsense choice.
