1. Getting back involves an uphill walk which was no problem for us (we are in our 40s) but others might prefer the free shuttle.

3. You check in at the Magic Castle Hotel at the bottom of the hill (which being ranked 2 of 295 on Tripadvisor should give you a good idea what to expect), and then the free shuttle will take you and your bags up the hill to the Hollywood Hills Hotel.

9. The free shuttle service to and from our room was unexpected, and the free mini-bar items - crisps, chocolate, bottled water, soda etc (ok so you have to go down to Magic Castle reception, but no real problem) was another pleasant surprise - and both at no extra cost.
