1. It is a 10 minute walk to Foggy Bottom Metro or a 10 minute walk to Georgetown -- great street for shopping, restaurants and evening entertainment.

2. I used to stay at the Fairmont (excellent choice) across the street but after giving Park Hyatt a try I am glad I did.

I a rather quiet street very close to the German embassy the PH offers everything a 400 $ hotel should do: stylisch interior, excellent service (they even offer maps for runners - the round trail thru the mall-area is my pitch), a small swimming pool (no real spa with sauna though) and a very chic restaurant (with good drinks).

8. Down M street about 5 blocks are several good places for breakfast (including La Madeleine's), along with a great assortment of restaurants for lunch and dinner.
