1. When people pass by our room, even they do not talk loudly, we can hear their conversations and footsteps.

3. The area around the hotel did seem to be a hang out for locals; both in the day time when they're enjoying the beach and then at night I heard a lot of cars, loud music, and motorcycles (I stayed on Sunday and Monday night).

5. As for peace and quiet, themain road out front is very loud and the jets fly directly overhead to land at the Hilo airport.

6. The noise- I followed the Expedia recommendations and upgraded my room to the most expensive - I got an "ocean view room" but the street noise and parties in the park accross the street were loud until 3:00 AM.
