1. In summary if you are looking for a friendly hotel (rather than the usual impersonal big ones) that is in a great location in Manhattan, that provides excellent value, then this is the one.

This, in our opinion, is the best way to get to and from the airport as it is door to door and relatively inexpensive and you don't need to lug bags around,Tip 2: For breakfast we took a short walk up east 42nd street to a KFC/Tim Horton (between Grand Central and TGI Fridays) and had an excellent breakfast bagel, hash brown and very large cup of coffee (and very nice too for NY standards) for $12 for 2 of us, excellent value and kept us going for the whole morning.

7. Breakfast is huge and good value if you get the B&B rate (but its not always available) otherwise there are an infinity of coffee shops and diners to choose from, we particularly liked Pershing Square, behind Grand Central on 42nd street.
