2. It's behind the hotel thru an alley and it's $12 a day to park which is reasonable considering some of the other downtown hotels that are $45 a day to park.

4. An oasis in the middle of downtown Los Angeles, the Fig is the most beautiful and magical hotel I have ever visited, and this includes stays at the Ritz in Paris and various overpriced monstrosities in London and on the coast of Monaco.

5. Wander out back and you discover the bar/pool area, which looks and feels a lot like you're in a tropical paradise and not in downtown LA.

6. I discovered it while hunting for a downtown LA hotel that was within walking distance for the travel show, and now, if I'm staying in that part of LA for the night, it will always be at the Figueroa.
