On my last night in Kauai, I had not booked any accommodation, after exploring the north side of the island and driving back towards Lihue I saw the Coral Reef Hotel, I pulled in and within 10mins I had a room, the price is good and the location in Kapaa was great as I spent the afternoon walking and exploring the township.

3. Its right on the main road (kuhio hwy) in kapaa and the staff has always been very friendly and can give lots of good advice on things to do or not do if you're new to this side of the island.

4. The room was lovely, the beds comfortable, good reading lights, the AC cold and refreshing, and the bathroom big and clean.

5. The staff was wonderful, made dinner reservations for us, gave us tips where to go in good and bad weather, gave us movies for some stormy nights, and was always friendly and cheerful.
