1. In general, the hotel seemed a little shabby and in need of some refurbishment, but this seemed typical of the area and for the price was not a problem (if you're expecting the Hilton, then you should expect Hilton prices).

2. When in SF on business I generally stay down on Geary or O'Farrell but all the places I generally stay were full.

3. There were positives however: the hotel and room were very clean; it is reasonably well placed, being about a 10 min stroll from Union Square and the cable cars to Fisherman's Wharf and the staff were generally helpful.

9. We received a double room and found it to be spacious, so the common complaint that the hotel is too small is moot on this point; the double room allows for two generous-sized rooms with a door as a divider, together with a shared bathroom between the rooms.
