1. I was celebrating my birthday which was noted on my reservation after casually talking to the reservation desk about why the rate was ok because I wouldn't cancel and we were upgraded to a suite for free at check in which was awesome.

7. The hotel room is so funky and I especially like that the bed is set into a curtained alcove, so when you're just hanging in the room (with the complementary glass of wine brought up from the lobby) you can sit on the loveseat and feel like you're in a suite and not just a hotel room.

9. On my second stay, the room I had requested was not available when I came to check in, and I was automatically upgraded to one of their beautiful and spacious suites at no additional cost.
