1. The town of Kihei is basically a strip mall with one good dinner restaurant (Cafe O'Lei) and a few decent places to buy lunch.

2. Teresa, the desk agent, helped us book a fantastic dinner cruise (on the Pride of Maui) and also spent a great deal of time showing us how to get around to our various destinations on the island (Road to Hana, Haleakala, etc.).
"Love the Mana Kai Maui!!!!!! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   11/12/2008 Vote
3. Also located on the premises is the Five Palms, a beachfront restaurant that serves very good food from breakfast through dinner, including bargain priced pupus in the late afternoon.
"The Best Condo in the Best Location " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/16/2010 Vote
4. And also try Matteo's for lunch or dinner, just down the road in Wailea.

5. I have been coming to Maui for decades and had been here numerous times for dinner at Five Palms-but this is the first experience staying at Mana Kai.

6. The Five Star restaurant is okay, decent service, and pretty good breakfast food (we ate at Cafe O'Lei in Kihei for dinner).

7. Our last two nights there, we stuffed ourselves at the 3 to 6 pm half price appetizer and Mai Tai special at the Five Palms, and that was a satisfying substitute for dinner.

8. $25 each at various stores) for the wavier afternoons on the beach; send the kids on one surfing lesson (my boys were both on their feet and riding all the way to shore within 10 minutes)- bring or buy swim/sun shirts for the kids to protect them both from the sun and the boogie/surf boards; eat breakfast and lunch in your condo (preferably on the lanai) and go out for dinner- don't bother with the GPS offered by the car rental places (the major roads all pretty much stick to the coast of the island and it's really easy to follow the maps)- go to the aquarium (they have a pretty big tiger shark there that they captured about 14 months ago)- Stay in condo #314.
"Loved Mana Kai (and we're tough customers) " Read full review on TripAdvisor   2/8/2008 Vote
9. You need a car to visit other towns and sights such as the Hana Road and the Haleakala volcano, but for the beach days it just wasn't necessary we just walked into Kihei for dinner and walked to Wailea for a change of seen.
"Brilliant value " Read full review on TripAdvisor   7/30/2007 Vote
