My flight was cancelled yesterday and although, I would have completely understood if I had forfeited a night's rate at the hotel, I was very pleasantly surprised when Maggie, general manager, replied to me notification email and said they understood some circumstances were out of our control and would not charge me for the missed night.

8. The front desk manager was barely apologetic, explaining that well, they had to do their renovation sometime, so it was pretty much our tough luck that we scheduled our trip at this time.
