1. A surf shop, several restaurants, a Starbucks and a Coldstone Creamery are all within walking distance as well.

2. There is a small fitness centre on site which you can use, or you can walk/run along Venice boulevard (better in the mornings before it gets crowded).

4. The location on Washington Blvd in Venice (charming little City -- canals, beach etc.) is excellent with many restaurants and shops within walking distance of the hotel (don't drive around -- WALK!-- parking is valeted for the street AND beach parking is expensive.
