A short cab ride to go to 3rd St Promenade, Santa Monica for shopping dinner, movies and to hear tomorrow's stars busking; to go to Santa Monica Pier for carnival rides, arcades, a great ocean view and some great street dancers; or to Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice for shopping (similar to Brunswick St in Melbourne, for the Aussies reading this).

3. I had a difficult time choosing between hotels in Marina Del Rey for attending a memorial, but I gave up the ocean view options when I ran into this place.
