1. But it's a hike to Santa Monica, the beaches, Hollywood, etc. I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you just need a place to crash for one night.

2. The LA Metro rail is quite useful in certain areas of the city like Hollywood blvd, Universal studios etc. But if you want to visit Santa Monica beach, Beverly hills, Rodeo drive etc, be prepared to drive a car.
