3. The hotel is general is basic and a bit tired but it is clean and a 5 minute walk to the beach and near the pretty canals.

My flight was cancelled yesterday and although, I would have completely understood if I had forfeited a night's rate at the hotel, I was very pleasantly surprised when Maggie, general manager, replied to me notification email and said they understood some circumstances were out of our control and would not charge me for the missed night.

6. I travel alot and find it very nice when the general manager emails me to say they received my reservation and a second one that says they are awaiting my arrival.

7. We were hoping it would be a little more like an 'inn' than a generic place but while we had no major problems with the place, it was just about as generic as staying at any of the mid-range chains.
