I have asked several front desk staffers what they think the hotel guest expects and NONE of them could offer any response to indicate they know we (guests) are only seeking to get from Point A (the reception desk) to Point B (a room with clean sheets a working bathroom and HBO) as QUICKLY as possible.

5. I'm used to being denied this type of request befroe check-in, but the usual response is that a note will be made on the reservation in case a desired room was available.
