3. The new modern Hilton is 3 blocks away next to the convention center, and the cost is about the same, but why would you want something so futuristic when you can have something so nicely old and quaint.

6. In the midst of all the new construction in the Gaslamp, it was very refreshing to see a historical hotel with large rooms, great atrium and lots of funky staircases.

10. We had to catch an early flight and each day as we met a new desk clerk we asked if getting our valet parked car at 4:00 AM was going to be a problem since the valet is only there once in a while.
