1. As nice as it was to be off the beaten track, it was a little confusing to check in (must do that at the sister hotel) and hard to find.

2. We asked two different staff members for restaurant recommendations and got the exact same list of places from both staff (are they trained to say the same)? They were all pretty touristy, shopping mall type places (nice enough, but you could find them anywhere), and we were after good local non chain restaurants.

3. I've never been to any hotel before that does that (the 5* places are the worst for ridiculous mini bar prices), and it's a really nice little touch.

4. The rooms themselves are a bit tatty and in need of a refurbishment, but if they were all new and nice then you'd easily be paying double the price for this place you are now if not more.

9. The Magic Castle Hotel itself is a little pricier but very nice looking with nice pool and apparently big suites.
