1. For more provisions, a mile down the beach are the Shops at Kailua, where you can find great clothing stores, plus a Whaler's General Store and ABC Store for chips, dips, beer and other essentials.

3. The decor is a bit shabby and could use a makeover - we had some very strangely upholstered armchairs that didn't really seem to fit, and the paint on the ceiling was chipping a bit.

6. other negatives:-slow housekeeping (one day our room was not cleaned until 4pm (again, for what they charge, I think that is unacceptable)-dirty carpet in elevators and chipped paint around hotel buildingIn summary--Kea Lani is a solid, second tier resort with gorgeous views and generally nice facilities.

8. They deliver a basket of macadamia nuts, 2 sodas, chips, and also our champagne and chocolate covered strawberries arrive with a hand written note apologizing for the door key fiasco.

9. ' Our room had a decent sized refrigerator and we stocked up on breakfast goods (if you're in Paia, a stop at the bakery next to the Paia Fishmarket restaurant is MANDATORY, the have the most incredible chocolate chip banana bread.
