If you're going to try snorkeling off the resort, make sure you go in the morning, as it gets kinda
rough
in the afternoons when the wind picks up.

All in all, Hawaii is beautiful and you have to do it once or twice, but for the money, water (temp, visibility, varieties of fish to see snorkeling,
rough
ness of the ocean) and travel distance GO TO THE CARIBBEAN instead.

The beach by the Fairmont was quite
rough
while we were there, but the beach in front of the Grand Wailea and Four Seasons was perfect for our kids' ages and a short walk or drive.
