3. Staff very friendly - front of desk man was hugely supportive and helpful when it emerged that our return flight to UK via new York was compromised by the impending hurricane.

4. Towels aren't as fluffy and new, and they seemed to skimp on towels.

5. The main advantages are the price (it is lower than the brand new but superior JW Marriott about 3/4 mile away), and the service (everyone was friendly and helpful throughout).

7. My Do Not Disturb sign was honored, and when I asked the front desk for the room to be made up later in the afternoon after sleeping in on new Years' Day, I was accommodated without a problem.

8. The good news is that the concierge lounge is now open on weekends (breakfast and dinner hours only), and was even open new Years' Day.

10. The hotel is certainly not new or trendy, but it is still a fine property and every bit on the level of what I expect from a full-serivce Marriott.
