9. Also tried the little diner/cafe down the road from the hotel, turn right as you go outside the hotel door, for breakfast as another trip adviser writer had suggested, lovely little place and great food but HUGE portions so you may only want to order a shared portion.

The food is fantastic -- bar fare (cheese course and perfect drinks) and breakfast (not sure how to get it, but the little basket of breads is outstanding -- I didn't get it on this trip, but instead got a few slices of untoasted sourdough, er, no, thanks) is excellent and served in an indulgent, even excessive, way (little dishes for everything, an entire set of stuff to support a single cup of tea).
