1. I've always found the reviews on tripadvisor very helpful, whether they are good or bad especially the tips other travellers provide, hopefully this one will assist.

2. It's not a bad hotel by any means but don't expect anything special.
"Not all that special " Read full review on TripAdvisor   5/17/2012 Vote
3. We arrived to bad house music and hip-hop with people that looked like they just got off the cast of Jersey Shore.

5. The Empire tries really hard to maintain a younger Euro vibe and as such there is a lot of dance/electronic music played both in the lobby and on the rooftop, which depending on what you are going for could be good or bad.
"Good location but lacks polish! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/16/2012 Vote
6. Why bother with a huge flat screen TV if the reception is that bad?The window was broken and didn't close properly which meant that the noise from outside was insane, especially in the morning when they were doing roadworks right under the window and because it was right by the bed I caught a nasty cold.
"So disappointing. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/16/2012 Vote
7. I've never written a bad review for anything before but I found the Empire to be such a let down.

8. There is a great Irish bar on 72nd street about 10 minutes walk away where the food is excellent & drinks not too badly priced.
"Great location but tiny room " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/13/2012 Vote
9. Oh, and bathroom cleaning could be done a little more thorough - I shouldn't have to find calcium deposits and minute traces of rust in the bathroom, but perhaps the cleaning-lady had a bad day - it was such a small flaw that I probably shouldn't even mention it.
"A great hotel that misses the bulls-eye by a hair " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/12/2012 Vote
10. On our second stay with Empire we got stuck in a bad room, but they were very accommodating and moved us to a higher and larger room overlooking Lincoln Center.
