1. The room was pleasant and clean, albeit too small and with no tea/coffee making facitlities, and very hot and stuffy, so we had to use the aircon unit.

2. 95 per day), no bedside tables (the room was too small to accommodate any), a phone and clock radio not within reach of the bed, no top sheet provided (only a duvet; we did request an 'extra sheet' and received one), noisy heating and difficulty cooling desperately hot room (in February.

5. As a small boutique hotel it is too small to book out the lobby and lounge without impacting the guests.
"Too many other great hotels in NYC to go back to the Empire Hotel " Read full review on TripAdvisor   5/29/2011 Vote
6. Down sides - no internet connection in our room as it was so slow it timed out, the rooms are too small for 2 people meaning you're constanly moving things to make space, the bathrooms have 'unusual' showers and the screen wasn't big enough so the floor was constantly soaked, there is no extractor fan so steamed up, very noisy fans outside our window (back of hotel) so remember to take ear plugs, the heating system is ancient and looks out of place in such nice rooms.
"Lovely hotel but small rooms, very expensive bar, bar staff attitude " Read full review on TripAdvisor   2/23/2011 Vote
7. Our room was clean, superbly appointed and beautiful/modern, not too small (this is NYC, after all), and the staff was extremely accommodating.

9. My only complaint is the bathroom, way too small and cramped, but it was functional.
